Raja Ampat Yacht Broker
Yacht and charter management for Raja Ampat owners
Yacht management in Raja Ampat covers technical oversight, crew, compliance and commercial operation for owners who are not aboard. Programmes run from light technical supervision to full charter management with calendar control and owner reporting. Management contracts are issued by PT Komodo Vessel Management.
Why remote ownership fails here
West Papua is a demanding place to own a boat casually. Parts arrive slowly, salt and heat are relentless, crew turnover during the low season is normal, and compliance dates do not wait for an owner who is nine time zones away. Vessels left to drift between one caretaker and the next lose value in ways that only show up at the next survey — which is exactly when it costs the most.
Programme tiers
Technical supervision
Planned maintenance against class and statutory dates, yard-period specification and supervision, machinery hours tracking, spares and procurement, condition reporting with photographs.
Crew management
Recruitment, contracts, certification tracking, rotation, payroll administration and the handover discipline that keeps standards stable between rotations.
Compliance & administration
Certificate renewals, permits, insurance placement and claims support, port and clearance administration, incident reporting.
Commercial management
Rate strategy in USD, calendar control, agent and direct distribution, guest logistics and monthly owner reporting on occupancy and cost.
Reporting standard
The owner’s file is the product. Every programme delivers a defined monthly pack: position and activity, planned maintenance completed and outstanding, machinery hours, spend against budget with variance explained, crew status, upcoming compliance dates and, on commercial programmes, occupancy and revenue. No verbal-only updates, and no maintenance charged that is not documented.
Where management fits the ownership cycle
- At purchase. Taking delivery of a vessel bought through the for-sale desk with a documented condition baseline from day one.
- In service. Keeping the boat working, insured, certified and earning through charter.
- At exit. A managed vessel with a clean maintenance file sells faster and defends its asking price. That is the sequence set out on sell your yacht.
Ecosystem standards
Management here follows the same operating standards used across the group’s fleet work — see integrated vessel management standards. Yard periods, repair and refit are contracted separately through PT Komodo Galangan Nusantara rather than bundled into a management fee, so that the party specifying the work is not the party selling it.

Frequently asked questions
What does yacht management cover that a captain does not?
A captain runs the vessel. Management runs the asset: budgets and variance reporting, maintenance planning against class dates, crew contracts and rotation, compliance renewals, procurement, insurance claims and commercial calendar control. The two roles complement each other.
Who issues the management contract?
Boat-management contracts in this ecosystem are issued by PT Komodo Vessel Management. Brokerage, charter marketing and central agency contracts are issued by PT Komodo Bahari Nusantara. They are separate agreements with separate fees and separate ledgers.
Can management include chartering the boat out?
Yes. Commercial management covers pricing, calendar control, agent distribution and owner reporting. Owners set the number of weeks reserved for their own use before the season is opened for sale.
